Riesgo= peligrosidad x vulnerabilidad x esposición
- The hazard refers to the likelihood that a particular natural phenomenon, of a certain extension, intensity and duration, with adverse consequences, is produced; or what is the same, the characteristics of the phenomenom.
- La peligrosidad hace referencia a la probabilidad de que un determinado fenómeno natural, de una cierta extensión, intensidad y duración, con consecuencias negativas, se produzca; es decir las características del fenómeno natural.
- The vulnerability refers to the impact of the phenomenon on society, it´s ranging from land use to the structure of buildings and constructions, and depends heavily on how population responds to risk. The increased of the vulnerability means a greater risk.
- La vulnerabilidad hace referencia al impacto del fenómeno sobre la sociedad, ésta abarca desde el uso del territorio hasta la estructura de los edificios y construcciones, y depende fuertemente de la respuesta de la población frente al riesgo. El incremento de la vulnerabilidad significa un mayor riesgo.
- Exposure/ Elements at risk refers to the characteristics of the afected surface, the people and the infraestructures that are exposed to the risk.
- La exposición hace referencia a las características de la superficie afectada, a la cantidad de personas e/o infraestructuras que están expuestas al riesgo.
